Diet Coke in Orpington
Chilled Diet Coke is on the menu at Crispy Dosa Orpington at £2.49, served with ice, and available to dine in, as a takeaway, or added to any online order.
Without sugar to soften it, Diet Coke reads sharper against food than a regular cola does, and that suits the savoury end of our menu.
It works with a plain dosa, with uttapam, and with anything fried, where the acidity does much the same job a squeeze of lemon would.
It is less suited to the sweeter items. Against a mango-heavy dish, or at the very end of a meal, it can taste thin, and something like our Masala Tea will serve you better.
If you are ordering it because you would rather avoid the sugar, it is worth knowing that our salted Fresh Lime Soda contains none either.
That is real limes squeezed when you order, chilled soda water, and salt in place of sugar, traditionally kala namak, the Indian black salt. It is sharp, clean and genuinely refreshing.
Our salted Fresh Lime Juice is the still version of the same drink. Both are made in front of you rather than poured from a bottle, and both let you decide how they are made.
